This year’s program will help even more community agencies

Marie Rein, who helps coordinate the annual “Fill the Gazebo” event in Merrill, added some clarification to the instructions for this year’s event.
In addition to donations of non-perishable food items to be equally divided among Merrill’s three food pantries, this year the event is also collecting personal care products (deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste) and cleaning products (dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet cleaner).
If you wish to make a monetary donation for a specific recipient, such as Food For Kids, St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Center, HAVEN, or the MAC Home, make your check payable to that specific organization and put “Fill the Gazebo” in the memo line.
To donate to one of the food pantries, make your check payable to “Merrill Food Pantry” with “Fill the Gazebo” in the memo line, and all of the food pantry funds collected will be donated equally among the pantries.
“The Big Fill” will be held at the Merrill Gazebo in Normal Park on August 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon. The event will move to the Merrill Festival Grounds in the event of rain.
“If you have no preference as to recipient, please make your check out to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (again, memo line “Fill the Gazebo”). These donations will be equally divided between the seven participating pantries and agencies,” Rein said.
Checks may be brought to the Gazebo during the event on August 7, or may be mailed to: Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church – Fill the Gazebo, 300 Logan St., Merrill, WI 54452.
