To the Editor:
Recently, I had to go to the Emergency Room at Good Samaritan Hospital. Over the past 10 years, the ER staff of Doctors and Nurses have helped me and my family seven times for various ailments. With each experience, I am reminded of how fortunate this community is to have such a resource as this hospital to care for all of us in time of need. I would like to thank all of the staff at Good Samaritan for always being there and for providing such high quality service.
For my trip to the ER, I relied on the Lincoln County Ambulance Service that has also helped me and my family several times. The two EMT’s were great, very concerned, and professional and so to them, I am also grateful.
It was in October of 2017 that the EMT’s and the Good Samaritan Hospital staff worked together to save my son’s life when he went into dangerous seizures. They kept him breathing and stable until he could be taken by helicopter to the Marshfield Children’s Hospital. He is alive and smiling today because of their efforts.
So once again, I would like to remind the community of Merrill and the surrounding townships of how fortunate we are to have such awesome emergency and other medical services available and to all staff of these services, thank you and God bless!

– Sincerely,
Heather O’Neill & Family
