MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

06-14-21
At 9:42 a.m. officers responded to a park for a report of a suspicious female party in one of the restrooms. In speaking with the female party, she was exhibiting furtive movements and making absurd statements about things that were not there. The female admitted to using methamphetamine previously in the day and consented to a search of her vehicle. Upon the search, a bag of methamphetamine was located. The female was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
At 5:31 p.m. officers responded to the probation and parole officer to take a party into custody for a probation violation. The male party was arrested and brought to the Lincoln County Jail.

At 1:35 a.m. officers responded to a report of a trail derailment on the tracks by the River Bend Trail parking lot. Officers assisted with the initial response to the derailment and continue to assist with the investigation.
At 7:00 p.m. an officer responded to a neighbor complaint after parties were playing catch with a football ending up on the roof of a neighbor’s house. The neighbor was refusing to give the football back, and upon being contacted by an officer, the female returned the football that she has, cut with a knife. The female was cited for Theft and Destruction of Property.
At 11:34 p.m. officers responded to a report of a 911 hang up at a residence. Upon the arrival of the first officer, it was found that a disorderly conduct incident had occurred. While speaking with those involved, a male party became uncooperative with police and refused to follow directives. The male was arrested for Obstructing and later became disorderly at the hospital during medical clearance and was swearing at hospital staff. He was additionally charged with Disorderly Conduct.

At 11:28 a.m. officers responded to the report of a burglary in progress. Officers located a male that was initially reported to have climbed through a window of the property. That was later determined to be false. It was found that the male had previously lived there but was no longer welcome to be there. The male was sent on his way.
At 8:25 p.m. a male party was observed walking on 2nd St., known to have warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The male was taken to jail for the warrant and the methamphetamine.

At 11:22 p.m. officers were dispatched to a local tavern for a report of a female party there with an active warrant. Officers were unable to locate the female party and were advised she had left prior to their arrival.
06-19-2021
At 1:11 a.m. an officer located three juvenile parties that were climbing on top of a closed business in the city. The three juveniles were issued curfew citations and transported back to their residence.
At 6:06 p.m. officers were dispatched to a disorderly conduct complaint where one intoxicated male party attempted to strike another male party. Upon arrival, the one male party continued to be disorderly, and when officers attempted to place him under arrest, he became resistive. The male was arrested for a Probation Violation and Domestic Related Disorderly Conduct.
At 9:01 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the Merrill Festival Grounds for a report of vandalism to one of the buildings. The officer located graffiti on the VFW stand at the festival grounds. The investigation is ongoing.
06-20-2021
At 2:49 a.m. officers were dispatched to a local tavern for a report of one male party pointing a gun at another male while outside the bar. The suspect was said to have fled the bar prior to officers arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
At 4:12 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of a bond violation regarding a no contact between a male and a female party. Officer arrived and observed the male and female in contact with each other inside the garage at the residence. Officers attempted contact at the door and the female answered. The female denied the male being present. Officers were let in the garage and another male on scene directed officers to a closet where the male in violation was hiding. The male was arrested on two counts of felony bail jumping.
At 8:03 p.m. an officer was dispatched to an attempted burglary at a storage unit. The female reporting party stated the lock had been cut off of the unit. The female was able to determine that nothing was stolen from the unit and the only property missing was the lock. The investigation is ongoing.
