Thaddeus “Ted” George Szczepanski

Thaddeus “Ted” George Szczepanski, age 92 of Gleason, died on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Riverview Health Center in Tomahawk, WI. Ted was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 27, 1928 to Adam and Helen (Orlikowski) Szczepanski.  He attended Boys Tech High School through 10th grade to become a printer. Ted worked at Cornell Paper Company, St. Regis Paper Company and Nelson Container until his retirement in 1991. At the time of his retirement, Ted moved to the Harrison Hills in Gleason, WI.  Ted was very proud of the fact that he was able to serve his country in the Army, with the 6th Armored Tank Division.  Ted enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his vegetable garden and was an avid auto racing fan, he was even part owner of a midget race car team. Ted also enjoyed going to garage sales and buying lawn tractors to refurbish. Family was important to Ted, especially gatherings where sheepshead was the favorite entertainment.

Ted is survived by his daughter Joanne, sons Thomas (Paulette), and Richard Szczepanski; grandchildren Kelli and Nathan (Caitlyn); great grandchildren Ethan and Jensen; sister Helen Bonis; brothers Ervin ( Nancy) and Jerome (Beverly) Szczepanski, nieces and nephews. Ted’s step family was also very involved and supportive: Patricia (Ron) Geurink and Patricia’s son Chad (Alexandra) Walker, daughter Kim Walker, Rick (Dee Dee) Scaggs, Judy Scaggs, Lynn Slottke.  Ted was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents, brothers: Julius Borkowski, Arthur Szczepanski, Ray Szczepanski, Clarence Szczepanski, Edward Szczepanski, sisters Alice Trzecinski and Cari Bieck.

A celebration of life will be held at Sunset Play House in Elm Grove on June 19, 2021 at 11 am. You may leave your private condolences for the Szczpanski family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is handling the arrangements for the family.
