Merrill vs. Lakeland Union meet
All levels of the Merrill Bluejay Trap Team were competing against Lakeland Union last Tuesday, Apr. 13. At the Varsity level, Cameron Stadler shot a perfect 25, Camryn Schulz shot a 24, and Brindelyn Eternicka and Jordan Smukowski tied, with each of them shooting a 23. Due to a delay in the start of the season for some teams, it is not yet known which school emerged the winner of this and the prior two meets.

Fundraising continues
“The kids just had their meat fundraiser to help them offset their costs of joining,” said Amy Brown, a parent of one of the athletes and current Vice President of the MHS Trap Team Foundation. “Our current goal is to raise $10,000 to build a fourth trap house so we can host conference shoots.”
Brown said the kids, coaches, and parents/leaders are still working on ideas for how to do that. “There is a gun raffle through the Wisconsin Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) that is a great fundraiser for us, but tickets were limited (each athlete was asked to sell 9 this year).”
“There is a gun show at the Enrichment Center the first weekend of May, and we will have a booth there,” Brown said. “We are planning on having raffle tickets for a gun there.”
“We are brainstorming as to what we can do next and get the kids involved,” she added.
