MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

4-12-21
At 3:02 a.m. a caller reported hearing loud music, yelling, and glass breaking coming from an apartment. Upon arrival, the officer could hear loud music coming from the apartment. A male then was heard telling a female the police were at the apartment, and the music was then turned down briefly. Nobody would answer the door. The music was then turned up even louder. The female tenant will be cited for noise ordinance violation.
At 10:17 a.m. a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
At 6:39 p.m. a caller reported a domestic disturbance. It was reported a female was hanging out of a vehicle window and a male driver struck a building. It was found the male had taken the female’s cell phone, which she was attempting to get back from him while he began driving away. The male was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. There was no damage to the building that was struck.

At 1:21 p.m. a caller reported fraudulent activity against a utility company. At this point, it is unknown if this is, in fact, fraudulent activity or a billing issue. The caller will be obtaining further information from her bank to make a determination as to what occurred.
04-14-2021
At 2:34 p.m. officers responded to a call-in reference to a report of a male party who had broken a window in order to gain access to a residence. The male party resisted officers on scene, and was subsequently arrested for resisting, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and bail jumping.
At 6:04 p.m. officers responded to a complaint about illegal dumping in a city park. Upon arrival, officers located the suspects, and the suspects agreed to clean up the garbage.

At 3:51 p.m. officers were advised of a harassing text messages complaint. The offending party was contacted and advised to cease sending messages to the reporting party.
At 7:14 p.m. officers were advised of a battery incident which occurred at Riverside Park after the victim met a party who he met through a social media group. Investigation is ongoing.
04-16-21
At 12:43 a.m. an ambulance was dispatched to a hotel after it was reported a female exited her room and was bleeding from her head. It was further reported a male had fled the scene at this same time. The female reported the male had pushed her, causing her to strike her head on a piece of furniture. The male was located and stated he pushed the female after he attempted to leave their room following an argument. The female armed herself with a knife and wouldn’t allow him to leave. The female stabbed the male in the arm, and the male pushed her to leave the room. The female was arrested for recklessly endangering safety. The male was arrested for three outstanding warrants for his arrest.
At 7:16 p.m. a 16-year-old female was cited for misuse of 911 after she called 911 and hung up. She has been cited numerous times in the past for the same behavior.
04-17-21
At 3:22 a.m. a caller reported a fight outside of a residence. Upon arrival, it was found two intoxicated men had agreed to fight one another. As their conduct caused a disturbance to neighbors, both were cited for disorderly conduct. One man was assessed by EMS for a bloody nose and swelling to his eye.
04-18-21
At 10:46 a.m. a caller reported finding suspected drugs in her residence that belong to her boyfriend. The boyfriend had left the residence. The investigation will continue.
At 12:06 p.m. a caller reported she had been staying at a hotel and left a large amount of money under the mattress when she departed. She returned and found the money was missing. Investigation continues.
At 5:10 p.m. a crash was reported on Grand Ave at Champagne St. A motorcyclist had tipped over after a dog darted into the street. The driver was uninjured. A crash report was completed.
At 8:44 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious male sitting on the curb on E. Main St. waving to passing vehicles. An officer located a male sitting on a porch at the location. He confirmed he had been sitting on the curb, but denied waving to passing vehicles. He was found to have four warrants for his arrest. He was arrested for those warrants.
