Following the resignation of District 10 Lincoln County Supervisor Jeremy Ratliff in late January, County Clerk Christopher J. Marlowe announced the County would accept letters of interest to fill the position until noon on Feb. 12.
Marlowe indicated selected candidates would be interviewed on Feb. 15 and the Lincoln County Board planned to approve the appointment to fill the vacancy at their Feb. 16 meeting.
Five applicants came forward to express interest in the District 10 seat, which represents Wards 1 and 2 in the Town of Pine River: Jeffrey Berry, Jesse Boyd, Jonathon Krohn, Mary Waid, and Judy Woller.
Interviews took place Wednesday, Feb. 24, with four interviews held in-person and one done by phone, Marlowe said. “All applicants were very solid candidates,” he added.
“Chair Koth has chosen his candidate that he will ask the board to ratify,” Marlowe said. That will happen at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors on Mar. 16.
“Chair Koth’s recommendation does need to be voted on by the full board on March 16th,” Marlowe confirmed.
The appointed Supervisor will serve the remainder of Ratliff’s unexpired term which ends Apr. 18, 2022. The candidate will most likely assume all of former Supervisor Ratliff’s committees, as well, Marlowe confirmed. “But this is also subject to the full Board’s approval,” he added.
