On Saturday, Oct. 31 MHS junior Elizabeth Schmidt competed at the WIAA Division 1 State Cross Country Meet. The race was split into three separate races that took place around the state. The times were then collected and put into place order based on time. Elizabeth took 12th place overall with a time of 18:50.
The previous weekend, at the WIAA Division 1 Sectionals Meet, Elizabeth took first place overall and broke the school record for the fastest 5k (girls) with a time of 18:34. She had held the previous record with 19:04.
