Merrill home damaged by fire

MERRILL – A Merrill home was damaged by fire on June 28.

Crews were called to North Mill Street just after 2 p.m., after someone passing by the home saw smoke coming from the structure.

The extent of the damage is not known at this time. The fire appears to be electrical in nature, originating in the living room.

One firefighter was transported from the scene in an ambulance, due to a medical issue; that person was treated and released. No other injuries were reported.

Other responding agencies included the Tomahawk and Pine River Fire Departments, the Merrill Police Department, and Wisconsin Public Service.
