A 51-year old Merrill man is in the Lincoln County Jail following a vehicle pursuit Saturday evening. A deputy initially attempted to stop the suspect vehicle for a speeding violation on County Rd JJ in the Town of Rock Falls. The vehicle fled and led the deputy on a high speed pursuit through several townships and reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. The pursuit terminated in the City of Merrill when the driver got stuck in the gravel pit at the end of Pine Ridge Ave. The man was charged with felony fleeing, a felony count of endangering safety and numerous traffic citations.The man was also found to be wanted by the Clark, Marathon, Portage and Wood Counties all on separate cases involving failing to pay child support. He is also a convicted felon on multiple offenses including two prior cases of fleeing an officer.
