Last September, Zach Ziesemer was selected as the new administrator of Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Ziesemer succeeds former administrator Lisa Gervais, who retired last May.
A native of Hortonville, Wis. Ziesemer brings with him 7 years of care facility administration experience. He is a 2012 graduate of UW-Eau Claire, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Health Care, as well as Masters of Business Administration Degree from UWEC, earned in 2019.
Prior to accepting the position with PCNH and eventually Northcentral Health Care-following the recent transition-Ziesemer served for two years as Executive Director of Markesan Resident Home in Markesan, Wis. and five years as Executive Director of Willowdale Health Services in New Holstein, Wis.
“I’ve always enjoyed the healthcare field and just helping people in general,” he explains.
“One aspect of the administrative side of the healthcare field I really enjoy, is working with people and bringing people together. It’s a role that is both challenging and very rewarding.”
As for how Zach came to choose Pine Crest Nursing Home as an employment prospect, he cites both family ties to north central Wisconsin and an opportunity to work in the non-profit sector.
“My fiance has family members in this area, so we were already looking to move north. There were a few things about Pine Crest which drew my interest, but the key factors were the idea of employment in the non-profit sector and working in a larger facility,” he adds.
“I also saw a great deal of potential with the Northcentral Health Care transition.”
As Ziesemer further explains, the adjustment and “settle-in”period has gone well over the last five months.
“Everything has been great and has gone very smoothly, I appreciate the help from Northcentral Health Care with implementing the recent transition. I’m very excited to promote services we are very proud to provide here at Pine Crest, such as hospice and long term care, memory care, and short-term rehabilitation services.
“As we move forward, I look forward to emphasizing community involvement and building a sense of community around Pine Crest,” he adds.
“Emphasizing relationships with community partners will be an important piece of that, such as local hospitals and various agencies in the community and working with them to strengthen current programming, and implementing new programming designed around the needs of seniors in our community.”
