Merrill High School senior and boy’s basketball standout Michael Casper has been leading the way for the Jays all season, averaging nearly 22 points per game. Casper’s 25 points against Antigo on Jan. 21, was the boost the Jays needed to grab the 66-58 win.
Casper has been a three-year contributor to the Merrill varsity basketball team and last year as a junior, he earned second team All-Wisconsin Valley Conference honors. In the spring Casper is a part of the varsity golf team. On his free time Casper enjoys spending time with friends and family.
The son of Lisa and John Casper of Merrill, Michael currently maintains a 3.9 GPA. Following graduation in the spring, Casper will attend Bemidji State University where he earned a partial scholarship to play basketball. Once at Bemidji, Casper plans to study pre med.
