The Grand Stand closes for the season

While 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 may marked the last call for The Grand Stand serving food and treats, the closure is only temporary. According to owner Shelby Dzwonkowski, since opening the Grand Stand this past May at the former Briq’s Soft Serve location of 501 Grand Avenue, the intent was to remain open year-round. But as the weather cooled headed into fall, a steady drop-off in customer visits led to the decision to close for the winter months.
“The response from the community has been incredible since we first opened in May, far better than we ever expected! But as it started to cool off, business tapered off. Customers aren’t as fond of standing outside to place and wait for their order, as they were when the temps were warmer. I can’t say I blame them.” she adds with a smile.
On the bright side, while the physical location of the Grand Stand will be taking a seasonal break, the menu favorites Grand Stand customers have come to expect and enjoy, will be offered at Studio 808, which Dzwonkowski also owns and operates.
“We are already looking forward to re-opening the Grand Stand next spring, welcoming back all of our customers who have welcomed us to the neighborhood and made the Grand Stand such a great addition to the community!”
