Mary E. White, age 88, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Hospice House in Wausau. Mary was born June 25, 1931 in Stratford, daughter of the late Lloyd and Helen (VanDreel) Treankler. She married Rev. Donald E. White on July 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2015. Mary graduated from Colby High School, and then attended vocational school in Eau Claire. While working in Washington D.C. Mary met Don. She then began her career as a pastor’s wife, a military wife, and homemaker. Mary enjoyed birds and birdwatching, all of nature, crafts, sewing, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Mary and Don enjoyed traveling, and spent several winters in Winterhaven, Florida. Mary’s family will remember her as a very giving person.
Mary is survived by six children, Cindy, Kerri (Randy Capp), Tom (Terry), Nancy (Brad Ruchti), Drew (Denise), and Laura (Reggie Greene); twelve grandchildren, Lowell, Angie (Alan Alvis), Darrell, Christopher (Alena), Derrick, Amber (Nate Barber), Dillon, Kevin, Emily, Alex, William, and Lucas; seven great grandchildren, Addie, Ava, Michael, Chris, Alice, Anela, and Margo; a sister, Kathy Weis; and a brother Daryl ‘Pete’ Treankler. Besides her husband and parents, Mary is preceded in death by three siblings, Richard, Barbara, and Donna Mae.
Mary’s funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Mr. Robert Schneider, Lay Minister will officiate. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
