Richard Allen “Dick” Hiter, age 77 of Plano, Texas passed away on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2019. Dick was born on January 14, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Cleon Daniel and Bernice (Ingram) Hiter. He married Martha Ayers on December 9, 1967 at the Sewart Air Force Base in Smyrna, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Marty Hiter of Plano, Texas; two daughters: Katherine Hiter Neill (husband Ken) of Frisco, Texas, and Kimberly Paige Hiter of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren: Jacob Hiter Neill and Madison Nicole Neill, both of Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by three sisters: Joan Hiter (husband Jerry) Koch of Merrill, Wisconsin, Jean Hiter (husband Dale) Smith of Austin, Texas, and Maureen Shaw (husband Dave) Walker of Austin, Texas; one brother: Robert Richard (wife Judy) Shaw of Plano, Texas. Dick is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Robert Dennis Hiter. Robert’s wife Suzy Hiter who lives in Merrill, Wisconsin.
Dick graduated from high school in Merrill, Wisconsin. He then graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1965. He served our country in the United States Air Force as a captain. Dick enjoyed golf, reading, but most importantly spending time with his family and grandchildren.
The funeral service for Dick was held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, located at 7990 George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Texas 75252. A burial service with full Air Force military honors was on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas 75211. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society (DAPS). Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas has charge of arrangements.
