William S. Zeitz, 74, of the Town of Pine River, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital, Merrill. Bill was born January 21, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio son of the late Melvin and Florence Zeitz. He married Nancy L. Lajeunesse on August 19, 1967. She survives. Bill taught high school history and political science. He enjoyed hobby farming, reading and current events, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was currently a member of the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors and was the chairman for the Town of Pine River.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Zeitz, Merrill; nine children, Douglas (Karen) Zeitz, Fremont, California, Stephanie Zeitz (John), San Jose, California, Joseph Zeitz, San Jose, California, Emily (Mike) Condensa, Suwanee, Georgia, Mary (Mark) Hanicker, Weston, Julie (Daniel) Moonen, Merrill and Nora (Gerard) Moonen, Merrill, Theresa (Joseph) Leitermann, Summit Lake and Gerard Zeitz, Wausau; 41 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Judy Brinkman, Wisconsin, Martha Zietz, Florida and Stephanie (Hans) Thumm, Ohio. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Peter; and a sister, Peg.
Visitation for Bill will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. A private family mass and burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com.
