A generous donation of $517.50 to the Backpack Project was made by the members of Church Mutual Insurance Company’s Employee Association Jean Day.
Members of the association from left to right include: Christy Cordova, Michele Krueger, (Linda Becker from MFTHCI) and Leah Burbach. It is generous contributions from individuals, organizations, businesses, and associations like these that keep the Backpack Project alive and well.
Distribution this year for over 500 eligible students will be held on Saturday, July 20, earlier than past years. Since the project cannot provide every school supply needed, this will give parents the opportunity to take advantage of back-to-school sales to get remaining items.
Sponsors of the project are Merrill Forward Together Healthy Community Initiative (MFTHCI), Optimists, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
