A 44-year old Merrill man was arrested Monday afternoon after deputies investigated a report of trespassing in the Town of Rock Falls. The man was arrested for failing to stop/resisting an officer and for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license as a repeat offender. The Merrill Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and a K9 from the Wausau Police Department all assisted with the stop.
A 48-year old Tomahawk man was arrested Thursday afternoon on a warrant charge. Deputies went to a home in the Town of Bradley to investigate a child custody matter and found the man was wanted for violating the terms of his probation.
A 50-year old Merrill man was arrested Friday afternoon for violating the terms of his probation. Deputies assisted the Wisconsin Department of Corrections on a home visit in the Town of Merrill and found the man was drinking in violation of his probation rules.
A 25-year old Merrill man was arrested Saturday morning on a misdemeanor charge of bail jumping. When contact was made with the man it was found he was drinking, violating the signature bond which had been issued six days earlier in Lincoln County Court.
A 24-year old Rhinelander man was arrested Saturday morning after a deputy found a vehicle parked in the lane of traffic on County Rd D. The driver was placed through field sobriety tests and taken into custody for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. During a search, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also located.
A 29-year old Wausau man was arrested Sunday morning on misdemeanor charges after deputies investigated a fight in the Town of Merrill. The man was charged with battery and disorderly conduct for the incident.
A 64-year old Merrill woman was taken into custody Sunday afternoon for an OWI offense. A deputy stopped the woman on County Rd J near Irma after receiving a report of a reckless driver. The woman was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
The number of car deer crashes has increased slightly with six being reported this past week. A bobcat was struck by a deputy on patrol on USH 8 on Monday.
