Dafney Yates, daughter of Jim and Melissa Yates of Merrill, has been selected as PRMS Youth Optimist of the Month for the month of December
Nominated by Lynn Curry; “Dafney always strives to do her best, not just for herself, but also for others, When she is challenged by a new obstacle, she looks for solutions and works to solve the problem. She does not give up until an acceptable solution is obtained.
“When she notices other students struggling, she will work with them. She offers suggestions without just giving away answers or telling them how to do it. Dafney looks for the positives in the classroom, and values her learning and education.
“She has learned to continuously challenge herself, and dive into material for deeper meaning, When given advice, critic and suggestions on how to improve, she is very open and willing to try new approaches to learning. Dafney would be an ideal candidate for Youth Optimist”
Outside of school, Dafney enjoys participating in the WEB program, Volleyball and ski teams.
