A 65-year-old Tomahawk man suffered serious injuries after a motorcycle crash Friday evening in the Town of Bradley. Just after 5 p.m. the crash was reported on State Rd. 86 at County Rd. E. The driver was transported by Tomahawk EMS to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital and then flown to the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Three Illinois men are in the Lincoln County Jail after deputies responded to a disturbance in the Town of Rock Falls. A 911 call at 9:31 p.m. reported a man trying to force entry into a tavern located on State Rd. 107. Deputies found three men, two 18-year-old males from Waconda, IL and an 18-year-old male from Island Lake, IL at the tavern. The men were believed to be under the influence of drugs and resisted efforts to being taken into custody. The first suspect was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The second suspect was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. The third suspect was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and battery to a law enforcement officer. A deputy escaped serious injury after he crashed his patrol car on State Rd. 107 while responding to emergency calls for help from deputies on the scene.

A 54-year-old Merrill woman was taken into custody late Saturday night after deputies investigated a report of a reckless driver. She was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, however; that may become a third offense due to a similar case that is pending in the courts.

The grass fire threat remains high and deputies checked on several people who were burning over the weekend despite the burning ban. On Friday the Town of Corning Fire and DNR responded to a grass fire at noon on County Rd. FF and on Sunday the Town of Russell Fire Department along with the DNR responded to Bass Lake for a fire on an island that spread to a nearby cabin, firefighters were able to extinguish the cabin before any serious damage occurred.

The number of car deer crashes is lower with only four being reported this past week.
