Amazing animals showcased at Library Family Fun Night

The T.B. Scott Free Library will host the final program in its spring season of Family Fun Nights on Thursday, May 3 at 6 p.m. on the second floor in the Youth Services Department.

The final program will include Therapy Dogs Kiva and Buddy and their respective handlers, Mark Mehlos and Karen Nocco. Mark and Karen are members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. They will explain the difference between a service dog and a therapy dog and invite children to come visit the dogs and read to them this summer as part of the Library Summer Reading Program.

Then get ready to “Snake, Rattle & Roll” with wildlife educator Emily Roberts. Emily graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Fisheries & Wildlife. She then became an Interpretive Naturalist for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, where she found her love for wildlife education. Emily will focus on native reptiles with an emphasis on snakes. The audience will learn about salamanders, turtles, snakes, and meet several species that call Wisconsin home.

Family Storytime also concludes this week on Wednesday, April 25 at 10 a.m. as the library prepares for a great line-up of summer offerings. Pick up an informational flyer about the Library’s summer offerings for youth now or please contact Carolyn Forde, Youth Services Librarian at 715-536-7191 or e-mail Carolyn at [email protected] for program details.
