The Merrill Optimist Club will be hosting the annual Winterfest Cardboard Sled Contest on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Lion’s Park.
How creative can you be using only corrugated cardboard as a building material? Design and build a person-powered, cardboard sled capable of withstanding the descent down the Lion’s Hill slope.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. with sled judging at 10:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for best use of color, best construction/durability and best theme/details.
There will be no race portion of the contest this year, so participants may chose to challenge their designs and descend Lion’s Hill after judging at their own will.
