Patricia (Ruprecht) Grunewald, age 90, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017 at Oak Ridge Living. She was born on Oct. 13, 1926, in Milwaukee,the daughter of Erwin and Hazel (Behrens) Ruprecht. Patricia was raised in Merrill and graduated from Our Lady of the Holy Cross High School. She married William A. Grunewald on June 14, 1945, in Merrill. Patricia moved to Madison in 1974, and worked for American Family Insurance as an underwriter and claims adjuster, retiring in 1990. She was a past member of the Toastmasters, Sweet Adeline’s in Merrill and St. Francis/St. Robert’s Catholic Church in Merrill. Patricia had many friends and loved to share her time and service whenever possible. Patricia is survived by her son, William (Sandra) Grunewald; and granddaughters, Shelby and Jessica Grunewald. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; and sister, Sueann Ruprecht. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1708 E. 10th St., Merrill at Noon on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, with Father Chris Kemp presiding. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.
