Friday afternoon, the city’s department of public works announced intermittent road closures due to construction beginning Monday June 27th.
Streets included in the closures are:
Sixth Street-Blaine St. to Mill St.
Blaine Street-Fifth St. north to River St.
Hendricks Street-Sixth St. to Eighth St.
Eighth Street-Pier Street to Hendrick St.
According to a press release from DPW Director Rod Akey, these streets will be closed at times to thru-traffic with limited access to local traffic.
“Every effort will be made at the end of each work day to allow residents of these areas access to driveways. If possible we ask residents of these streets to use alley parking as much as possible and let us know of any special needs. Construction will begin on Sixth Street beginning at Pier Street and proceed east.”
This project will be constructed in phases to limit the amount of area disturbed.
