Sunday evening, area honor flight veterans and family members gathered at Wausau’s Highland Community Church for a reception and dinner, in preparation for Monday morning’s ‘Never Forgotten Honor Flight’.
Sunday’s festivities included various speakers, a home cooked roast beef and chicken breast dinner, as well as various vocal performances.
One such performance included that of ‘Trillium, a 3-piece Minocqua based vocal group and their 12-song medley tribute to Honor Flight veterans. The flight-consisting of 94 area WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans and their guardians- is scheduled for take-off from Central Wisconsin Airport at 6:45 Monday morning, bound for Washington D.C, with an expected return time of 10 PM Monday night.
