Shoplifting incident leads to multiple charges for Wausau woman

Early Friday morning, officers responded to a reported shoplifting complaint at a local store.
Upon arrival, officers met with a store employee who indicated a female had left the store with items she had not paid for.
While observing video footage of the incident, officers observed the female leaving the store wearing a white fleece jacket which she had not paid for and a bag full of items she had not paid for.
The bag was later found in the store parking lot and upon following footprints in the snow near the store, the woman was tracked to a nearby restaurant where she was found reportedly hiding in the women’s restroom. The jacket was recovered outside the restaurant near a dumpster.
During contact with the woman, she reportedly gave a false name and was subsequently taken into custody on charges of Retail Theft and Obstructing an Officer,
Following transport to the Lincoln County Jail, the female was identified via jail records as 35-year old Betsy Lang of Wausau.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered Lang had an open bond as well as two outstanding arrest warrants. Additional charges of Bail Jumping and Felony- Unauthorized Use of Personal Information were added for Lang.
