America’s Luxury Automobile – The Packard

Merrill Historical Society is pleased to invite everyone to attend a program on the Packard automobile on Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Merrill History & Culture Center, 100 E. Third St. in Merrill. The program begins at 2 p.m.
The presenter will be Ralph Wehlitz, who has had an interest in the Packard Motor Car Company and its products for many years, beginning in 1935. This interest has included ownership and employment as well as extensive research into Packard history.
Ralph’s presentation will be a talk, with numerous illustrations, about the Packard Motor Car Company: how it began 116 years ago and how it developed into a producer of one of America’s most prestigious and desired automobiles. Also included will be a look at some of the cars and their celebrity owners, and Packard’s unique and crucial role during World War II.
The Merrill Historical Society’s mission is to educate the public about our heritage using the unique historical and cultural resources we collect and preserve. For further information on the programs and activities of the Merrill Historical Society, or to become a member, please contact the Society at 715-536-5652 or [email protected], or see the website at www.merrillhistory.org.
