Public meeting scheduled to discuss US 51 and WIS 64 in Lincoln County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss WIS 64 and the US 51/WIS 64 interchange in Lincoln County.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Lincoln County Service Center, Room 255, 801 N. Sales St., Merrill. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.
Some of the needs that have been identified at this location include:
•The pavement on WIS 64 at the interchange is deteriorating.
•The abutment of the northbound US 51 bridge over WIS 64 requires repairs.
•The traffic demands at the WIS 64 intersection with the US 51 interchange ramps and the WIS 54 intersection with WIS 17/County W are creating inefficient operations at the intersection.
WisDOT is seeking the public’s input on proposed alternatives that will address the existing and future transportation needs of this location.
Citizens who are hearing impaired and require an interpreter at the meeting may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (711).
