Glorian G. Reinke, age 94, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Woodland Court under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born March 31, 1921 in Merrill to the late Edwin and Emilie (Semrau) Gehrt. She and Martin Reinke were united in marriage on December 8, 1945 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death March 30, 2000.
Glorian was a graduate of Merrill High School. She went on to Merrill Commercial College and received her Associates degree. Glorian worked as a bookkeeper for Livingstone Department Store for 40 years, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed visiting with friends and loved traveling with Martin. Glorian kept busy over the years managing the Parklane Manor Apartments, volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital and acting as President of the Dorcas Society and Mission Circle. She was very active in St. Stephen’s Church as Sunday School Teacher, acting as officer at the church and was a member of the choir for over 55 years. Glorian was also awarded the 1994 Faith Award from St. Stephen’s.
Glorian is survived by her sister-in-law: Esther Gehrt of Appleton; three nephews: Kenneth (Deon) Gehrt, Merrill, Steven Gehrt, Tomah, and Darrell (Kathy) Bohm, also of Merrill; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Martin, and brother, Vaughn Gehrt.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. Pastor Missy Holdorf and Rev. Dale Kuck will co- officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service also at the church. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
