Fatal crash victim name released
At 6:02 AM Tuesday morning, the Lincoln County 911 Communications Center received a report of a crash discovery on CTH G, east of French Ridge Road in the Town of Pine River.
Upon arrival, Lincoln County deputies and EMS discovered the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had been fatally injured. The crash investigation continues as does efforts to notify the next of kin of the driver.
The Pine River Fire Department and First Responders assisted at the scene.
Wednesday afternoon, Sheriff’s Office officials identified the victim as 30-year old Jamie L. Berna of Wausau. According to a press release, Berna was eastbound on CTH G when her vehicle struck a stump. The crash was reported to the Sheriff’s Office by a passerby. It is still unknown if speed or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
