Tomahawk Post 93 streaks to 11 straight and takes tourney

Tomahawk’s American Legion Post 93 baseball team ran its perfect season start to 11 games before dropping Sunday’s final game of the Rhinelander Tourney to Mosinee by a 5-2 tally.
The Cubs had already wrapped up the tourney title, however, so the loss didn’t cut too deep.
“The guys did a great job in the tournament,” Post 93 assistant coach Wes Roessler said. “They stayed focused and were able to come out on top against some very good competition.
“This is a great group of guys and they are a lot of fun to be around. I am very proud of them.”
A four-run fourth gave Mosinee the edge it needed Sunday.
“It was interesting going into our last game knowing that we had already won the championship,” Roessler said. “It allowed us to play some people in different positions and try some things out.”
