The Tomahawk golfers ended up last in the final two legs of the GNC Meet, but showed marked improvement at Timber Ridge on Friday.
“As a team we played 30 strokes better than our last meet,” THS coach Garth Gerstenberger said. “I was happy with our improvement. Hopefully we can build on this as we move on to regionals next week.

Standings– Northland Pines 355 (39.5 total team points), Lakeland 360 (47), Antigo 367 (35), Rhinelander 367 (20), Mosinee 368 (18.5), Medford 370 (23), Tomahawk 380 (13).

The Hatchets finished seventh at Eagle River on Tuesday.
“We played the back nine first today and our kids had trouble with the tight fairways,” Gerstenberger said. “Mike Lodholz was two over on his last six holes and finished strong.”
