Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital Health Fair a success

Approximately 200 people attended the 17th Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 19. Hospital associates and Ministry Medical Group in Tomahawk provided over 570 free screenings, including: non-fasting cholesterol and diabetes screening, PSA prostate screening, blood pressure, balance, hearing, breast exams, depression/anxiety screen, vision, and body mass index.

“It’s an honor to provide this service for members of our community,” said Ministry Sacred Heart Foundation Director, Jesse Bolder. “The results of the screenings were available immediately and provided vital information to the client regarding whether they’re on the right track, or if they need to make minor, or major, lifestyle changes to maintain optimal health and well being.”

In addition to the free screenings and other healthcare booths, The Community Blood Center hosted a blood drive, and TIES THAT BIND US hosted a two mile celebration walk to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The 18th Annual health fair is scheduled for October, 2014.
