The Merrill Police Department is investigating a suspected heroin overdose involving a 33 year-old woman from Iron Mountain, MI that occurred in an outside bathroom at a South Center Avenue gas station during the evening of Saturday, Oct. 5.
Merrill Police were called at 7:21 p.m. regarding a pulseless, non-breathing female found in an outside bathroom at a gas station on S. Center Ave. The femalewas taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill, where she was revived and released the following day.
Investigators sought to question Kristine M. Woellner, 20, of Merrill and an unidentified male, after they left the scene prior to law enforcement and EMS arriving. The subjects left in a white colored 2001 Chevy Blazer, which was reported as stolen.
A fourth person involved, a 50 year-old male from Niagra, WI, remained at the scene and was later taken into custody for possession of a schedule II narcotic (Ritalin) without a prescription. He was released on a $1,000 signature bond following a court appearance Monday.
The stolen Chevy Blazer was located in the City of Tomahawk Monday afternoon, according to Merrill police. The vehicle was unoccupied.
Merrill Police investigators were able to locate Woellner and she was taken into custody on several charges related to this incident. Woellner is scheduled to appear in Lincoln County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon. The unknown male has yet to be identified or located.
