Make A Difference Day 2013

Helping others is one of the most meaningful and fulfilling activities in which we can become involved. In fact, it has been shown that youth are more likely to grow up healthy when they value helping others. It is also true that youth are more likely to grow up healthy when they have caring relationships with adults. Participating in the community’s 18th annual Make A Difference Day, where youth and adults work together to better the lives of those that need a helping hand, is a great way to help build developmental assets with Merrill youth.
Sponsored by Merrill Forward Together Healthy Community Initiative and the Optimists, Make A Difference Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26. Check-in is from 8:30-8:45 a.m. at Prairie River Middle School, followed by projects from 9 until noon, with lunch afterward at the school.
Volunteers do not need to send in a form. All worker registration will be done on site Oct. 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Student participation in Make A Difference Day has always been very high. More adults are needed to help make sure all projects get completed. Please consider becoming a volunteer.
If you need help, watch for Make A Difference Day registration forms or register by phone. All pre-registrations should be received by Friday, Oct. 11. If you were helped last year and did not receive a call, please register by phone or mail.
