Elroy V.N. Butt

Elroy V.N. Butt, 86, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice services.
Elroy was born July 16, 1927, in Merrill the son of Martin and Dela (Krueger) Butt.
On August 21, 1948 he married Delores Henneman in the Town of Hamburg. She preceded him in death. Growing up Elroy worked on his family farm. Elroy was a log trucker prior to working as a crane operator for over 30 years until his retirement. Elroy enjoyed spending time with his family around a good campfire, and going for long drives with his wife. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his machinery and making maple syrup.
He is survived by his son: Bradley (Patti) Butt, Merrill; two daughters: Brenda (Michael Masgay) Felber of Schofield; and Kay Southard, of Merrill; 10 grandchildren: Jody, Alan, Mike, Cory, Melissa, Amanda, William, Charlotte, Jerod and Megan; 14 great grandchildren; sister: Frances Woller; and sister in law: Phyllis Henneman.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Delores in 2009, a daughter: Pam Schuster, a son: Ross Butt, and three sons-in-law: William Schuster, William Felber, and Jim Southard; brothers-in-law: Elmer Woller, Roger Henneman, Harley Westfall; and sister-in-law: Doris Westfall. Donations may be made to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, from 12pm until the time of his memorial service at 2pm at Waid Funeral Home. Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
