To the Editor:
I drove school bus for 18 years, starting when I was 65. I had mostly well-behaved, very nice kids. The last seven years I had all high school riders from Jefferson to high school. Only twice in seven years I had to talk to them about behavior.
This is all beside the point. Now, five years later, as I was coming down from the third floor of the library, a young lady of about 10 years old came running from behind me and asked if she could carry by 13 books. I said yes, I thanked her and turned to the checkout lady. When I turned back to ask her name, she was gone.
She not only made my day, but many days to come.
Thank you Lord for special young people.
