July Craft Classes at the Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center

Lorri Vandre, activity assistant of the Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center, is having scrapbook classes in the month of July. The dates for these classes are July 10, 24, & 31 from 1-3:30 p.m. You will need to bring your pictures and any special embellishments you want. We will supply the rest. We have beautiful scrapbooking paper and fun materials to use.
You will want to go through your pictures before coming down for the class. Photos should be categorized by person, year, and event. So when you come, all we have to do is get started.
You can dress up your page with personal touches, ideas, embellishments and written description about the photos, or you can keep it simple.
“In 2005, I made my Dad a scrapbook for Christmas,” Vandre said. “I not only had fun making the scrapbook pages, but enjoyed the research for putting the information under the pictures. One story I enjoy is when my Dad was in Korea and sitting down at the table there was a carton of milk from the Page Milk Co. manufactured in Merrill.
“Well after that I decided to redo my scrapbook,” she added. “I kept the pictures with the writing. That was my Mother’s handwriting. I used scrapbook paper and stickers to spruce it up a little more. I also added my very own memories to some of the pages.”
Scrapbooking is keeping your memories alive, passing these books down from generation to generation.
