Lorraine M. Harder, age 97, of Merrill, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.
Lorraine was born September 14, 1915, in Gleason, daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Borchardt) Genrich. She married Emery Harder in September of 1936 in St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1973. Lorraine retired in 1981 from Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill, after 34 plus years of employment. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill; the Ladies Aid of the church; and Social Club. Lorraine enjoyed flowers and gardening, fishing, and providing care for other people.
Survivors include her daughter, Janis (Mrs. John) Warner, Antigo; two grandsons, Dominic Warner of Antigo, and Douglas Warner, of Pelican Lake; and her sister, Edna Tubbin, Merrill. Lorraine is preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Elroy Genrich.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Nathan Kramer will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran School, Merrill.
