Oslage achieves Eagle Scout rank

Dustin Oslage, a member of Boy Scout Troop 503 of Merrill, chartered by the VFW, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Dustin joined scouts in the first grade. Over the last 11 years he has earned 24 merit badges. He became a member of the Order of the Arrow during his stay at Camp Tesomas in 2007. In 2008 he became a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He also has completed the National Youth Leadership Training program. Dustin’s Eagle board of review was held on May 10, 2012 and a Court of Honor celebration recognizing his accomplishments was held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill.
As a member of the Harrison Hills ATV Club, and because he has always enjoyed four-wheeling, Dustin was made aware of the need for more informational sign boards on the trail systems. For his project as a requirement to achieve Eagle Scout rank, Dustin designed and built two informational signs which were placed along the Harrison Hills ATV trail system. The signs are made of wood with a base onto which maps and flyers can be attached. Dustin organized the project, supervised fellow scouts, and helped construct the signs that were put up in spring of 2011.
Due to Dustin’s medical history, he has been an inspiration to others by the courage that he shows in the achievements that he makes. He feels very fortunate to have the support of his parents and brother who are very involved in scouting.
Dustin is a senior at Merrill Senior High School. He is involved in the High School Bowling team and weekly attends his FOCUS youth group. Dustin is the son of Chad and Lynn Oslage.
