Ronald Alfred Nichols

Pastor Ronald Alfred Nichols beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2012 in San Antonio, TX.
He was born on February 22, 1942 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Alfred and Sally Nichols. He married Karen Lynn Martin on July 1, 1967 in Wisconsin Dells, WI. He was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry of the Lutheran-Church Missouri Synod on June 18, 1972 and served congregations in Montana, North Dakota, Wisconsin and North Carolina. Pastor Nichols served Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Corning, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Hamburg (1977-1984). He retired in 2008 and moved to San Antonio in 2010 to be near family. He continued to serve as a retired pastor at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in San Antonio.
Pastor Nichols was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Ashley Meseberg. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen L. Nichols, of San Antonio; his daughters Jennifer (David) Revai, Kristina Nichols, both of Wisconsin, Stephanie (Robert) Tucker, of California, and Melissa (Aaron) Yzaguirre, of San Antonio; and grandchildren Tommy, Dakota, Caleb, Kalista, Arianna, Isabella, Christian, and Juliana.
The memorial service will be at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Saturday, July 28, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Hamburg. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
