Leslie T. Lange

Leslie T. Lange, age 87, formerly of the town of Schley, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Les was born July 19, 1924, in Merrill, son of the late Paul E. and Bertha (Bagley) Lange. He married Harriet H. Meyer on May 3, 1947, in Gleason. She survives. Les and Harriet had dairy farmed in the town of Schley. Les also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Musson Brothers Construction, Rhinelander, for 26 years. He was a member of the Gleason Lions Club; was a former charter member of the Gleason V.F.W.; was the town of Schley fire warden for 45 years; and for many years was the manager of the church cemetery in the town of Schley. Les enjoyed woodworking and making crafts. Les honorably served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet H. Lange, Merrill; (1) daughter, Judith Lange, Merrill; (1) son, Leslie L. (Sharon) Lange, Gleason; daughter in law, Diane Lange, Wausau; (7) grandchildren, Richard (Kristine) Shorey, Timothy (Angela) Shorey, Renee Shorey, Jody (Troy) Ament, Lori (Edward) Studinski, Tracey (Brian) Manock, and Gina Lange; (8) great grandchildren, Michael, Kristine, Cody, Cassie, Alexis, Nicole, Ashlyn, and Taylor; (1) great great grandchild, Braylyn; (2) sisters, Marcella (Elmer) Heinichen, Florida, and Genevieve Jensen, Elkhorn; (1) brother, Byron (Janet) Lange, Tomahawk; and (1) sister in law, Betty Lange, Merrill. Les is preceded in death by (1) son, Wayne Lange; his brother Ron Lange; a brother and sister in law, Paul and Doris Lange, Jr.; and (2) brothers in law, Clifford Jensen and James Hopp.
The funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be in Luther Memorial Church Cemetery, town of Schley, with graveside military rites conducted by the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638 Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the church.
