Donald N. Baumann

Donald N. Baumann, age 81, of Merrill, died Friday, December 16, 2011, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Donald was born April 9, 1930, in Merrill, son of the late Erich and Alma (Wegner) Baumann. He married Donna M. Zastrow on December 26, 1960. She survives. Donald was a retired employee of Hurd Millwork, Merrill. His hobbies included spending time at the family cabin west of Merrill; and restoring both automobiles and machinery. Donald served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954, and was stationed in Japan. He was currently a member of the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638.
Survivors include his wife Donna M. Baumann, Merrill; two sisters, Joyce (Jack) Howe, Lafayette, Indiana, and Betty (Herbert) Paul, Kimberly, Wisconsin; as well as other relatives and friends. Donald is preceded in death by one sister, Erna Voight; and three brothers, Harold, Lester, and Lawrence Baumann.
Burial of Donald’s cremated remains will take place next spring in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
