Elroy E. Koehler, age 83, of Merrill, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Elroy was born October 4, 1927, in Merrill, son of the late Edward and Frances (Storm) Koehler. He married Eleanor Schilling on May 10, 1952. She survives. Elroy had been a construction laborer with Laborers’ International Union of North America, Local #268. He enjoyed ice fishing; deer hunting; and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor Koehler, Merrill; one son, Joel (Susan) Koehler, Merrill; and two grandchildren, Connie (Troy) Brazeau, Merrill, and Scott Koehler, Stevens Point. Elroy is preceded in death by one son, Jeff Koehler; and two sisters, Helen Mehlhorn and Esther Pagel.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2011, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
