Ernest Krueger

Ernest Krueger, age 83, of Merrill, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Ernest was born February 8, 1928, in Lincoln County, son of the late Ernest and Bertha (Lokemoen) Krueger. He married Anna ‘Ann’ Friman on May 7, 1949, in Merrill. She survives. Ernest was a United States Air Force veteran. Ernest had worked for 44 years at the former Ward Paper Mill, Merrill. He had worked on the paper machine as a tour boss and then became a supervisor. Ernest was a member of Social and Sick Benevolent Society. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan, camping, sight-seeing all over the United States with his family, snowmobiling, watching the Green Bay Packers, and listening to polka shows. He greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Krueger, of Merrill; two sons, Michael J. (Karen) Krueger, of Merrill, and Jeff (Sandy) Krueger, of Athens; five grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer), Jennifer, Claire, Michelle, and Rebecca; two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Joseph; and two sisters, Bonnie Pophal and Betty Rutkowski, both of Merrill. Ernest was preceded in death by one son, Fred R. Krueger; one brother, Robert Krueger; and two sisters, Helen Juedes and Grace Bruns.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Friday, June 17, 2011, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
