The group that is exploring ways to attract more events into the Lincoln County Fairgrounds will meet again Thursday and is seeking more members of the community to take part.

“A good group of folks participated in the first Lincoln County Fairgrounds Event and Marketing Meeting on January 27. They had honest discussions about things that need to be improved on the grounds, what positive aspects of the property can be marketed to help attract new events, and what new events might be a good fit for the venue,” said Art Lersch of the UW-Extension who is serving as the facilitator for the group.
Besides these topics, participants also discussed how event planners can collaborate more with each other and the county. That is where the members of the group are seeking more concerned citizens of to show up.
“Those in attendance at the first meeting are urging other stakeholders to get involved by coming to the February 17 meeting,” Lersch said.
The purpose of this meeting will be to identify and prioritize what activities can occur within the next year or so to help make the fairgrounds a more viable and attractive venue, Lersch said.
The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level clinic room of the Lincoln County Health and Human Services Building, 607 N. Sales St., Merrill. The meeting is to take place in the lower level clinic room.
