John S. Mootz

John S. Mootz, 41, Town of Corning, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at his home.

He was born November 4, 1969 to the late Leroy & Sandra (Albrecht) Mootz.
John graduated from Merrill Senior High School in 1988. Over the years he worked for Semco, GTE, Hans Construction and for the last 5 years worked at Red Rock Granite driving truck. John enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, throwing darts, driving truck, spending time in the woods and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephews. John was also a member of local pool leagues.
Survivors include his brother and sisters: Anita (Bill) Holman, Steve Mootz, all of Merrill, Gina Mootz, Wausau, and Cara Mootz, Wisconsin Rapids; niece and nephews: Jeremiah, Dylan & Casey Hanke and Madelyn Mootz; great-nephew: Jeremy Hanke; and numerous Aunts and Uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy & Sandra Mootz.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2011, at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Smallman will officiate. Friends may call from 10am until the time of service, also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
