On Aug. 8, 2010, Matthew Pfantz, age 15, son of Gene and Sarah Pfantz, became the latest Eagle Scout from Troop 599, chartered through St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill.
Matthew has completed a total of 21 merit badges so far. For his Eagle Project, he organized, planned and led the construction of five bench/gun racks at the Lincoln County Sports Club, to promote a safe environment for their shooting range, and the Lincoln County community. Lincoln County Sports Club is a huge supporter of the National Hunter Safety Program.
Matthew is currently the Senior Patrol leader for Troop 599 and a Brotherhood member of The Order of the Arrow, where he serves as the Chapter Elections Chair. Matthew is currently a sophomore at Merrill High School.
