Katherine Kay Gorsky, age 62, was taken from us tragically on Sunday, June 27, 2010.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1947 in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of John and Ann (Wolff) Christoplis. Katherine was a proud graduate of Park High School. Katherine was employed with various hair salons in the Racine area before opening her own salon “The Mane Place” on Spring Street. On Sept. 9, 1984 Katherine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Guy Gorsky in Racine. They moved to Austin, Texas where she pursued her career as a hair stylist until the late 1990’s when they moved to the Green Lake area so she could take care of her ailing mother. For many years Katherine was a hair stylist for Tangles Hair Salon and Spa in Middleton. Katherine loved archery, racket ball, photography, and motorcycling. She also loved tending to her gardens and having fresh flowers in the house. Most of all, Katherine cherished her time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Guy Gorsky of Madison; her father, Johnny Christoplis; a sister, Shirley (David) Feehrer; and two brothers, Nick (Sue) Christoplis and Jim (Lynn) Christoplis all of Racine; nieces, nephews, Todd, Nicole, Keith, Tara, Cassandra, and Peter; great nieces, Jessica, Melissa, Sydney, Mercedez, Norah and Avangelina; other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Ann, and her niece Kristina.
A brief memorial gathering will be held at Merrill Memorial Park, Merrill on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11:30 a.m.
