Frank Saal, Jr. was recognized recently for five years of service on the Lincoln County Land Information, Conservation and UW-Extension Committee.

Saal has served on the Land Information, Conservation and UW-Extension Committee for the past five years, serving as the chairman of the committee for the past two years, and before that as the vice chair.??¢??????¯In addition he currently serves on the Personnel; Forestry, Land and Parks; and Zoning committees.??¢??????¯Beyond the county board, Saal has served on the North Central Technical College Board, donated time as an EMT at various functions, belonged to the Central Labor Council, and Lincoln County Sports Club.??¢??????¯Saal recently retired from the City of Merrill Fire Department where he served as a firefighter and EMT.

“Frank is an example of the successful relationship that we in Cooperative Extension have fostered with county board members and county government,” said Richard Klemme, dean and director of Cooperative Extension, a division of the University of Wisconsin-Extension. “This strong partnership allows us to deliver educational programming to meet the needs of people in Lincoln County.”

County governments work together with Cooperative Extension to provide local educational programs that address the lifelong learning needs of individuals, families and communities. Wisconsin residents get quick, convenient access to university research and knowledge through Cooperative Extension offices in every county and through staff on University of Wisconsin campuses. WACEC members advise Cooperative Extension about programs and encourage financial support for Cooperative Extension work.

For more information on UW-Extension programs, contact your county Cooperative Extension office or visit online at www.uwex.edu/ces.
